WACQT Lab Course

This graduate-level course offers participants practical, hands-on experience with quantum technology experiments, conducted at leading Swedish research institutions affiliated with WACQT (Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology).

By taking part in experimental sessions at Swedish universities including Chalmers, Lund, Linköping, and KTH, students gain firsthand insight into quantum research in Sweden, while building professional connections with researchers and fellow graduate students in the field.

Originally launched in Fall 2019, the course was held again in Fall 2021.

🧪 Course Structure
The program includes four experimental sessions, each hosted by a different university. For example:

  • The Chalmers session, titled Quantum Information in Superconducting Circuits, was co-organized by Simone Gasparinetti and Jonas Bylander.

  • After an introductory lecture, students performed real-time measurements and quantum control of a superconducting qubit using microwave pulses.

  • Techniques included dispersive qubit readout, Rabi oscillations, Ramsey fringes, and T1 relaxation measurements.

  • The session hosted 23 WACQT students, with three parallel experimental setups available for hands-on learning.

Stay tuned for future offerings of this unique course in experimental quantum technologies.
