We have been awarded a Proof-of-Concept Grant in AI and Quantum Technology from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (Knut och Alice Wallenbergs Stiftelse), and we are thrilled.
With this support, we will resume developing Travelling Wave Parametric Amplifiers (TWPAs) based on non-linear kinetic inductance, designed to operate at 4K. This is an important step toward practical, high-performance quantum amplifiers that can work beyond the extreme constraints of millikelvin environments.
Why does this matter? Amplifiers are the unsung heroes of quantum systems, shaping how well we can read out quantum states. Raising their operating temperature from ~20 mK to 4K is a leap that could make quantum hardware far more scalable and accessible.
